What to expect from your first visit
Upon booking, you will be required to fill out an intake form online. This provides us with your health history and information on your primary concern. Next, you will meet your RMT to go over your health forms and treatment goals. This is very important, as it gives us a baseline understanding of your health, and allows us to provide you with a safe and effective treatment plan.
Registered Massage Therapists (RMTs) are trained to conduct assessments at each appointment to evaluate your condition and determine the best treatment plan. These assessments can include a range of techniques and tools such as visual observation, range of motion testing, postural analysis, palpation, and patient history taking.
During a visual observation, the therapist looks for visible signs of any issues like swelling, redness, or muscle atrophy. Range of motion testing involves checking the flexibility of joints and muscles by asking patients to perform specific movements. Postural analysis involves evaluating the patient's posture to determine if it's causing any pain or discomfort. Palpation is the process of feeling and assessing the texture and condition of the patient's muscles and soft tissues.
Patient history taking is another essential part of the assessment process. RMTs ask patients about their medical history, current conditions, and any medications they may be taking. This information helps the therapist understand the patient's condition better and develop a personalized treatment plan.
By conducting assessments at each appointment, RMTs can track progress, identify areas that need more attention, and adjust the treatment plan accordingly. Regular assessments can also help prevent future issues and promote overall wellness. Therefore, it's important to schedule appointments regularly and to communicate any concerns or changes to your RMT
Some of our treatments include:
Although these general options are offered, every person's individual needs will always be the focus of treatment. Massage Therapy is patient lead, and professionally delivered.
Deep Tissue Massage
During a deep tissue massage, your RMT will use slow strokes and deep pressure to relieve tension from the deepest layers of your muscles and connective tissues.
Cupping Massage
Cupping is a healing therapy that many patients use to ease pain. The RMT places cups on your back, stomach, arms, legs, or other parts of your body. Inside the cup, a vacuum or suction force pulls skin upward.
Prenatal Massage
Pregnancy massage is a type of massage therapy specifically designed to be used during pregnancy. It can reduce stress levels and alleviate body aches associated with pregnancy. Special considerations are made depending on how your pregnancy is going, and specialized knowledge provides the opportunity to address pregnancy related concerns.
Full Body Wellness Treatment
Swedish massage works the whole body, but your RMT may focus on areas of your body that need extra attention. During the massage, your therapist will use their hands, palms, and thumbs to massage certain points of your body.
Sports Massage
A sports massage is a style of massage designed to improve athletic performance and prevent injuries. It is both a specific and general term, so let’s explore what this means to different audiences. Whether you are a pregnant athlete hoping to maintain some ability during your pregnancy, or just looking to optimize performance, this may be the best option
Hot Stones Massage
Hot stone massage is a popular treatment that adds heat for a modern twist. Water-heated, smooth stones are placed strategically on the body on key points, with pressure for the ultimate in relaxation and pain relief.
